Confirmation is a time for students (6-12th grade) to begin to be exposed to, understand, and possibly pursue the mission of the church to make disciples for the transformation of the world through the development of their own personal faith. Students journey through a series of lessons that deepen their understanding of faith with their parents as spiritual mentors alongside church staff and volunteers. This is a wonderful opportunity, and important step in a youth’s faith walk to begin to claim their faith as their own.

We hope to create a similar experience for 519youth! 519youth will host a Hurricane Matthew Relief trip Saturday, March 3! We are encouraging families to take part in this event together!

A normal day for Hurricane Matthew Relief volunteers is to leave Apex by 7am arriving in Fayetteville by 8:15-8:30. We will go to our work sites and work until 4-4:30. Parents Night Out

As we are nurtured in our own faith, it is imperative that we reach out to those around us. 519youth plan to host a Parent’s Night Out event, where parents can drop their 3 year olds to 5th graders off at the church to participate in crafts, games, drama, snacks, and movies! This is a small way that we hope to give back to the community that invests in us!

Pilgrimage is a weekend NCUMC conference event that provides an opportunity for over 5,000 youth to gather, worship, and serve. Through sermons preached by acclaimed speakers, and testimonies provided by fellow youth, we have a time to grow spiritually, personally, and relationally. We dance, sing, pray, and do not sleep – but it is memories such as these that are fundamental in beginning to understand who we are, and where we belong within God’s kingdom.

Middle School Lock-In

Dates: October 13-14, 2017
Contact: Anna Hughes (anna@519church.org)

All Middle School youth are welcome to attend the lock-in. We’ll serve pizza for dinner, go to Jump Street, worship together, and ultimately, serve Saturday at Yam Jam. Join in for fellowship, worship, and service – each element teaching us to love well and live differently!

Long ago Jesus called his followers to stop judging and start forgiving, to stop living selfishly and start serving others. He called them to love well, and he’s calling us to do the same. As we do, we begin living differently. Our daily priorities and actions change. We begin to invest in our community, love our neighbors and serve one another. Jesus started a movement and 519 invites you to join us as we ourselves love well and live differently.
