Owen has a great love for preaching, a deep desire to connect with people, and a quirky curiosity for all things creative. He grew up in Raleigh and graduated from Davidson College and Duke University’s Divinity School. He, his wife Chambliss, and their two kiddos Frances and Ned, live in Apex, where Owen served as a pastor at Apex United Methodist Church for four years. In 2011, the vision emerged for 519 as a new church passionate about loving well and living differently. When he’s not leading 519, you’re likely to find Owen running or biking near 27519, fly-fishing or eating somewhere fun.
Born in Chapel Hill (Go Heels), Graham grew up in both Carrboro and Hillsborough. Graham and his wife, Diana, currently live in Durham. They have a beautiful black lab mix named, Charlie. Graham has always loved music, sports, and the great outdoors. Graham attended both Brevard College and Appalachian State and is currently studying Christian counseling through Liberty University Online. On Sundays, you can find Graham playing stopper/sweeper for 519 Orange in the Apex Adult Soccer League. Graham has a passion for leading people in worship through music and is excited about serving alongside the wonderful people at 519.
Family Ministries Coordinator
Sarah is a 519er from Apex, NC. She earned a degree from ECU in Child Development and Family Relations, and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from UNCW. Sarah is excited to bring her passion for serving children and their families to the church she and her husband, Garrett, call home. Sarah’s free time is spent spoiling her two dogs, Pearl and Bootsie, and getting outdoors as much as possible.
Anna is originally from Clayton, North Carolina. She is currently a senior at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, studying both Religious Studies and Anthropology. She hopes to pursue a Masters of Divinity upon graduation in December. Anna has worked in youth ministry in various capacities, including camp counseling at Camp Don Lee. Youth ministry was extremely influential in her own youth life, and she is passionate about loving and equipping young adults to love and serve the community, both local and afar. When she’s not hanging out with the youth at 519, you can find her sailing on Jordan Lake, running around on trails in the area, or enjoying coffee at the nearest Starbucks.
Shannon, her husband Brian, and two daughters Riley Ann (6th grade) and Reagan (3rd grade) live in Apex. A true Wolfpack family, Shannon and her husband both received their undergrad and graduate degrees from NC State University. Although originally a southern girl from Wilson, NC, Shannon also lived in Iowa City, Iowa from 6-12 grades. Shannon loves to travel; experiencing different cultures, landscapes and cuisines. She has been lucky enough to live abroad twice. Shannon and her family just returned in late July 2016 after 4 years in Singapore. With a passion for connecting with youth, Shannon is excited to help co-coordinate the youth program here at 519. She has 10 years experience as a youth leader in addition to a masters degree in counseling. Little known fact…Shannon remembers meeting Pastor Owen during his senior year of high school at Broughton High School in Raleigh while she was completing her internship in school counseling.
Julie grew up in South Carolina and has worked with nonprofits for 20+ years. She loves to organize, encourage volunteers and project management comes second nature. Julie lived in Dallas, TX for nine years where she graduated from Dallas Seminary with a degree in Christian Education and worked with area churches. Julie and Joel live in Apex and have one son, Josh and an adorable beagle named Bailey. Her Texas boys might not be Carolina born boys, but they are learning to love the Carolinas just like Julie.
Hope grew up in Raleigh, NC. She and her fiancé are both in the Masters of Divinity program at Duke Divinity School. Hope has a passion for connecting with other people and learning their stories. She loves thinking creatively about what church looks like and how to connect with more people in the community. Hope graduated from UNC Chapel Hill where she studied Psychology and Environmental Studies. During college, Hope worked in youth ministry, the center for social justice, and was very active in Campus Ministry. Hope loves coffee and all things food-related, from gardening, to cooking, and exploring new restaurants. When she’s not working at 519 or doing schoolwork, she is likely doing yoga, hanging out with the girls she nannies for, or exploring new hiking trails.
